Circles of Mercer County
The Circles™ model consists of a family working to get out of poverty and between two and four middle-class Allies who befriend the family and support its members in their ongoing efforts.
The family serves as the Circle Leader, setting direction for the Circle’s activities. With the help of their allies, each family sets goals that are unique to its own needs and circumstances and that will lead to developing the emotional, financial, intellectual, and spiritual resources necessary for self-sufficiency and family stability.
Circles of Mercer County has established a working Coalition made up of volunteer community members representative of business, faith based, educators, social services and as well families striving to get out of poverty.
The group is at work to change the mindset and policies of their community with respect to poverty.
