began as a Tax Credit Project, bringing together the City of Sharon, Community Action Partnership of Mercer County, FNB Bank and UPMC Health Partners in an effort to revitalize empty lots and decrease blight in the City of Sharon through three strategies.
Side Lot Strategy, allows an adjoining neighbor to purchase the lot next to their property-the neighbor must be a homeowner
Adopt a Lot Strategy allows for community members to do a project on an empty lot, such as a community garden, an art installation or a pocket park.
Sponsor a Lot Strategy allows community members to sponsor the maintenance of a lot, so that the grass is cut and it is not an eyesore to the neighborhood.
Please Note- Not all vacant lots are part of the Lots to Love Program.
Funding has also been provided by the PHARE Grant from Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency
