Veterans Stand Down & Resource Fair
Hosted Every October by Community Action Partnership of Mercer County
The Veterans Stand Down & Resource Fair is an annual event dedicated to supporting the brave men and women who have served our country. Held each October, the event brings together a wide network of service providers, community organizations, and volunteers—offering veterans immediate access to essential resources in a single, convenient location.
Our Purpose
The goal of Stand Down is simple: to honor and support veterans by connecting them with the services they need and deserve. Whether a veteran is seeking help, information, or simply community connection, the event is designed to meet people where they are.

At the event, veterans can receive assistance with a wide range of needs, including:
- Housing and homelessness prevention resources
- VA benefits enrollment and navigation
- Employment and job training opportunities
- Health screenings and wellness services
- Mental health and counseling support

- Clothing, hygiene items, and basic necessities
- Financial guidance and supportive services
- Local community programs and partner agencies
Who Can Attend
The Stand Down is open to all U.S. military veterans and their families, regardless of discharge status, service era, or current personal circumstances. All services are provided free of charge.
Why We Host This Event
Community Action Partnership of Mercer County is committed to serving those who have served us. Many veterans face barriers related to housing, employment, health, or everyday stability. By bringing resources together under one roof, the Stand Down makes it easier for veterans to access the support they have earned.
Community Collaboration
This event is made possible through strong partnerships with:
- Local and state veterans’ agencies
- Healthcare and mental health providers
- Housing organizations
- Educational and workforce development programs
- Legal service organizations
- Nonprofits, volunteers, and community supporters
Event Atmosphere
More than just a resource fair, the Stand Down is a day of connection, respect, and gratitude. Veterans can speak directly with service providers, enjoy refreshments, meet fellow veterans, and feel welcomed by a community that truly cares.
Join Us This October
Community Action Partnership of Mercer County invites all veterans to attend and encourages local organizations to participate. Together, we can help ensure that every veteran in our community receives the support, stability, and recognition they deserve.
